With perseverance and patience you can do anything... Back in May my daughter was not the greatest at hiking, she was still in the carrier backpack last year and was expecting just to be carried around again this season. But she had quite the surprise. When I told the ones around me that I would get her into hiking by the end of summer people laughed and said "yep, she'll do maybe a lakeshore or an easy hike" and part of me truly believed that this was true. But I refused to just settle for this without even trying....so we started small, but often. Every weekend we added grade and length. It took patience and perseverance. There were bad days and good days but now with our summer over (let's face it it's snowing) I am not only impressed, surprised and proud of what we have both accomplished, I am also amazed at what our mind and bodies can do. Yes, of courses, I missed out on some bigger climbs and adventures, but the ones I have experienced with my daughter were truly magical and epic! Seriously! Thank you little one for all the memories, I've said it a million times but I'll say it again, you are the greatest partner I could ever have! And I love you so so much.
