I think its called preparation, lots of books, a movie and a nap ;)
We arrived and was more then happy our friend had decided to come camp because it seemed he had taken the last campsite! As I was unloading the car and putting the tent up, my poor girl tripped over a rock and landed face first on another one. Oh my. The scream. It was loud. I could tell it was painful. Thankfully I didn't panicked and just took her in the car so I could asses the situation. I could feel the blood dripping down my shirt.
Thankfully it was just her nose bleeding, a few scratches but nothing major. My husband had put a Dr.Pepper in my car and I truly think that is what saved the day. She has never had pop before. After one sip there was no more cries. I am so thankful she is a trooper and can handle these things. I probably would have cried more then she did. After the fact all I could think was, oh those poor climbers, sleeping for their middle of the night wake up call to go climbing. I'm sure they jumped!
The next day we woke up to such great weather, not too hot, not too cold and...sunny! We took one great little hike, I took her and my Bestfriend on the Wilcox Pass trail.I was so shocked to see how good my daughter was. Not too many breaks needed for my girl, just a slow steady pace! So great!
We didn't finish the trail as she wanted to make it to the Icefield. She likes ice, I wonder where she gets it from ;) One day little girl, one day!
We stayed another night and the next day I took her to Parker's Ridge. She did VERY well. Again just slow and steady and barely any breaks! Really not bad for a 3 year old.
My weekend was a success, my daughter is really starting to enjoy tenting, hiking and as always being outdoors! Loving life!
